Have you ever seen a herd of goats munching away on a field of weeds and wondered how it all works? I did. And now, I’m on a journey to turn that curiosity into a business. I'm excited to announce that I'm starting my own targeted grazing company, and I've chosen to affiliate with the best in the business: Goats On The Go®.

You might be asking, "Why affiliate with a national company? Why not just do it on your own?" That's a great question, and the answer is simple: it's all about purpose, partnership, and a passion for doing things the right way.

More Than Just Goats: A Shared Purpose

My decision to start a targeted grazing business wasn't just about finding a niche market. It was about finding a way to make a real, positive impact on the environment. I believe in using natural, sustainable methods to manage land, and that's exactly what Goats On The Go® stands for.

In a world where we often turn to harmful herbicides and fossil-fuel-powered machinery to clear land, goats offer a gentler, more effective solution. They can get into tough-to-reach terrain, clear out invasive species without damaging desirable plants, and leave behind nothing but natural fertilizer. This aligns perfectly with my personal values of regenerative agriculture and environmental stewardship.

The Power of the Herd: A Network of Support

While the goats themselves are a herd, so are the people behind Goats On The Go®. Starting a new business can be daunting. There are countless questions about everything from fencing and animal health to marketing and contracts. By joining the Goats On The Go® network, I’m not just getting a logo; I’m gaining access to an entire community of experienced professionals.

This network provides:

  • Training and Mentorship: I’m learning from people who have been doing this for years, like Fred and Debbie from Goats on the Ridge here in West Michigan. Their hands-on guidance has been invaluable.

  • Shared Knowledge: We all face similar challenges, from an escaped goat (ask me about Day 3!) to a tricky job site. Being able to share knowledge and experiences with other affiliates means we all grow and succeed together.

  • A Proven Business Model: Goats On The Go® has refined its operations over years, providing a clear path to building a successful business. This allows me to focus on what matters most: the goats and the customer.

Building Trust from Day One

When you're starting a new company, building trust with potential clients is crucial. By being an affiliate of Goats On The Go®, I’m not starting from scratch. The brand is already known and respected for its high standards and proven results. This gives my future customers confidence that they are working with a professional, reliable, and knowledgeable team—even if I’m new to the business myself.

I’m incredibly excited about this journey. It’s challenging, a little messy, and a whole lot of fun. I look forward to bringing the power of targeted grazing to our community and sharing every step of this adventure with you.

Stay tuned for more updates on our work, and if you’re interested in a chemical-free, sustainable solution for your land, please get in touch!
